by an artic this morning at 8am, turning into factory over the road and back end done mirror, 2 doors, rear quarter panel and quarter glass :'( didn't know he had done it, only found out when some nice bloke who witnessed it knocked the door and informed the missus, the most annoying thing is it will go as a claim against my insurance and i will have to mess about getting my £250 excess back AARRGGHH anyway the main thing is there was no one hurt and you can always buy another car, will let you know how i get on and what really small car they try and fob me off with, i guess it will be a corsa or clio Roll Eyes

forgot to add that the driver held his hands up to it although didn't realise he had damaged the Gal, spoke to chriss knott and have been informed that as i was not at fault it will not go against me as a claim and the company who will sort it out with other insurer will also sort out the excess charge for me as well , so hopefully not to much messing about Good Job!

Cheers mate, the way i posted made it look like the driver just done one, he was in fact sitting in his cab in the yard opposite my house and was oblivious to the fact that he had done the damage, nice bloke he was though never tried it on and had all his details for me in a jiffy, i was quite surprised how calm i was about it all , but when you look at it anyone and everyone make mistakes and that's all it was really.

Thanks , could have been both of us in a corsa/clio  Scream personally as there are so many cars on the road today i think they should raise the driving age to 21 Wink

Well awty i,m expecting something along the same lines eventually Angry ,phoned insurance company @ 9am yesterday to inform them , they in turn pass it onto a compamny called "hirehelp"who deal with the claim and sort out your repairs and courtesy car , had to phone them @ 1pm yesterday afternoon, and again at about 6.30 pm(such a large gap between calls as i am on nights so was getting some kip)told them that i still hadn't recieved phone call, told them that although the car was driveable it was not secure as the rear quarter glass was broke, was told that someone would phone before 8pm , you guessed it right people  BangHead . So after finishing nights i have had to come home stay up and take missus to work , got to bed at 9am instead of 7am AARRGGHH woke up at 1.30pm still no call recieved past the 24 hr mark and very not happy, phoned them up and spoke to  a young woman who said she had spoken to her team leader who was making it a priority and if i hadn't heard from them in an hour to phone back!!!
So i have phoned up Chris knott to voice my displeasure at the service i have recieved or should i say lack of it, i will add that the service from chris knott end was fine and that it is the company they use seem to be failing somewhat spectacularly.............................. watch this space

A very tired and p*ssed off

Ok update, they phoned me at about 3.10pm and there was so much legal jargon and this and that the bloke at the other end was churning out so much data that i just said yes to everything Roll Eyes Grin the lomg and short of it is

courtesy car to be delivered tomorrow and it's going to be a seven seater Thumbs Up result there then, very confusing the way insurance works nowadays, used to be pick up phone and give details and away you go ,now it's all gobbledy gook and technical /legal stuff, when asking about my Gal asked me why did i have such a car Huh? i think this is all to do with justifying charging the other insurance company so much, anyway car goes in for repair locally, will keep you updated Thumbs Up off to get some zzzzzzssssssssss

Stick with it mate  Wink
At the end of the day it was not your fault..
whereas with mine i just cut a corner and drove
straight into a guy who was coming the other way
so 110% my fault....Tesco insurance (my people)
just did everything and quickly too!!!!!!!!
Enterprise were the disapointing side...........
very unhelpful (at the time i was a car rental manager!!!)

sorry to hear this mate, a girl i do photography work with stays opposite a factory and they quite regularly hit the cars outside their house, usually at least one car a month hit in the street Sad

Although saying that i have a mate that drives a HGV for Tesco, says he was going up the M90 when he heard a "clink" like you'd flicked a metal pen etc, then looked in his mirrors to see a car spinning off the road, pulled into the layby to find the guy had been speeding out the slip road onto the motorway hadn't looked in his mirrors and had hit the HGV, been spun off into the verge and a lot of damage to his full drivers side. They really are so big and protected they genuinely don't notice hitting things.
