Overview |
The
elegant all–new Ford Galaxy takes the established and highly
successful Galaxy concept further into the "Travel First
Class" arena and is a worthy new flagship for the Ford of
Europe product portfolio.
New Galaxy's striking body design, featuring elements of Ford's
'kinetic' design language, displays the same futuristic modernism
as its sporty sibling, the Ford S–MAX. Yet it makes a clear
statement about space, flexibility, and quality.
Since its original launch in 1995, the Ford Galaxy has grown from
strength to strength, gaining a strong second position within
an increasingly aggressive segment of the market. Following a
major refresh in 2000, Galaxy introduced new levels of craftsmanship
to the Ford range, and continued to grow its segment share in
Europe. While the first generation Galaxy was a joint–venture
model, the new Galaxy has been developed inside Ford, and is being
built exclusively by the company at its Genk plant in Belgium

Galaxy combines 'kinetic design' elements with MPV spaciousness,
first class comfort levels and Ford's acclaimed driving quality.
In addition, this second generation of Ford's successful people
mover introduces new levels of interior flexibility with the innovative
Ford FoldFlatSystem (FFS) plus major new technologies focused on
driver assistance and occupant safety.

The new Ford Galaxy will be available in three distinct series –
Core, Trend and Ghia. An X–Pack will also be available for
the Ghia. This comprehensive line–up is designed to fit all
customer needs.
While the Core model is the entry–level Galaxy, it will not
be generously specified. Offering all the essentials and including
the new Ford FoldFlatSystem and an enhanced Intelligent Protection
System, the Galaxy Core model will appeal to price–sensitive
customers, perhaps trading up from a traditional sedan or wagon.
The Trend series has been carefully equipped to represent outstanding
value for money, and will be the volume seller in the new range.
Standard features like the EATC Air Conditioning system and a mid–length
overhead console will set it apart from the competition.
At the top of the range, the Ghia model offers classic luxury, with
added chrome elements to the exterior and visually distinctive seat
trim inside. Such standard features as cruise control, auto lighting
and rain sensing wipers, a full–length overhead console and
powered/heated door mirrors with puddle lights will attract premium
MPV buyers.
The Ghia X–Pack takes the luxurious Ghia model one step further,
and offers additional premium features like full leather trim and
the Panorama Roof. It is the ultimate new Galaxy. |
