Not sure how many Galaxy owners would be interested in changing  over to Silicone hoses , but its another mod that Ive always wanted to add but couldnt due to no-one making hoses for the Gal .

Now as far as Im aware , there are still no hoses available off the shelf so to speak , but after reading through this months Fast Ford magazine , I see there is a company called Roose Motorsport that are willing to manufacture one off pieces for any application .

There are standard straight lengths of silicone pipe in various diameters already available to buy  per metre length which should cover most of the pipes on the Galaxy , but the larger top and bottom radiator hoses would have to be made up .

Im intending on doing some engine dress up mods soon , so I will be contacting Roose Motorsport on Monday to ask what its gonna cost to get the rad hoses done .

They are available in Red , Blue , Black , Yellow , Silver and Gold

If anyone else is interested  in acquiring hoses , then their details are as follows

Thanks for the links Gary - after seeing all those lovely blue and chrome engines at Ford Fair it's something I (with the wife's pre-approval LMAO) will be looking into doing in the near future.

I keep meaning to contact Auto Specialists (www.autospecialists.co.uk) and seeing if there is anything they can do for the Galaxy. Will get around to it next week.

Paul , I spoke to Alan from autospecialists awhile ago  regarding shiny bits for the Galaxy .

They are the company that Im sending my cam cover to for polishing .

Heres what I wrote in  the post about them

Yesterday I had a nice chat with a guy called Alan , from Autospecialists in Essex . They specialise in Stainless and polished items for Fast Fords so I gave him a call to see if they did any dress up parts for the Galaxy engine .
Unfortunately they dont do specific items , but some of the more general items could be adapted to fit according to what he was saying . I asked him (on behalf of the club) if he would be interested in making some Galaxy parts , but he said it would not be cost effective for his company to do so .

He had a similar request from the Mondeo owners club and actually produced some specific parts for the Mondeo ST24, yet despite promises from the club , apparantly not one item was sold . He said he lost money and wouldnt be interested in doing it again . Because he produces parts in batches of 50 - 100 at a time , it just wouldnt be a sensible move on his part as we both agreed that the number of Galaxy owners wanting to go that far with mods was very limited.

He did say he could offer a polishing and chroming service though , which was a good thing , so I am now in the process of trying to track down a spare cam cover so it can get sent off to be polished , aswell as making a list of engine bay items that can be sent off for chroming . He quoted £50 for polishng the cam cover and £20 for chroming the engine lift eyes , so I didnt think that was too bad at all .

He also gave me the details of a company that is willing to make one off pieces for cars , so Im going to make some enquiries about some parts . I will let you know if I have any success .

Mad I May Be, Insane well I don't know about that yet

Like Gary, I like blue hoses in the engine bay so what have I just gone and done.....
I ordered a set costing me £180 and I am not 100% sure they will fit.

As Gary said no one does silicone hoses for the Galaxy or Sharan but I was not going to let that small obstical stop me no way.

As everyone on here should know the 2.8 V6 is the VW VR6 as used in the Golf, Corrado and Sharan. Using a combination of VW ETKA and Fords workshop manual and pictures on Samco's website I cross referenced all the info to find out which matched and none did.

Samco's Golf VR6 kit is a near match but not close enough but Corrado version is a near match to the Galaxy but will need slight modification (and I hope only slight!!!)  Undecided

I found a Samco VW Corrado  set on e-bay in America for £180 which is almost £100 cheaper than over here (Inc P&P)  Huh? so I ordered it and in a couple of weeks time I'll will now if I am insane or not  Grin

As soon as I have swaped my engine I can fit it hopefully, keep your fingers crossed

Insane or not, you'll find a way to make them fit and they'll look fantastic. I'd like to try and find some chrome parts that will fit the engine bay too. I'm prety sure one of the AS Battery covers should fit the Gal, but it's finding out which one!

As soon as I have the hoses and if all goes to plan once they are fitted I'll post some pics.

Unfortunately the kits don't come with either the vacuum hose or fuel hoses so I have to ordered these separately.  Undecided

Nearly every modification company I called to ask about the hose kits and a few other parts I want they more or less gave the same answer

"But it's a ford Galaxy Sir...."
"It's an MPV family car why do you want to do that...."
"Modified a MPV why!!!"

And my favorite from Demon Tweeks
"I have never heard of anyone trying to modifying a Galaxy it will be like someone trying to modify a donkey cart"
That was the end off that coversation when I put the phone down on him.  Grin

These people have no idea   Smiley

www.demon-tweeks-are-wankers.co.uk - might be my next website  Rant Whack! LMAO LMAO

I love it when people say those kind of things, makes me more smug knowing they'll eat their words when they see my car!!

The whole idea of modifying cars is to make them personal to the owner and different than the norm. How more different than the norm is a heavily modded Galaxy - IMO this makes them perfect and ideal for modding!!

Keep on truckin' Thumbs Up
