was thinking of talking to the repairers and asking them how much they would charge me to blow in the rest of the car as they are going to have to spray the whole side , and the gal is in quite good nick only a few car park dinks, might go and see them saturday and see what they will charge me Wink

spoke to the repairs shop today and spoke to the gaffer and asked him about blowing in the rest and his words "well without even looking at it your looking at least £1000, so as the galaxy is in goodish nick i shall give that a miss, although he said he would have a look round it and give me a price to do touch ups and dings, let's hope he's got his generous head on, about 10-12 days for the car to be finished Thumbs Up

Well get me Gal back tomorrow Yahoo! 11 days longer than first told Roll Eyes mind you keeps the mileage down i suppose Roll Eyes hope it doesn't look to new on the one side and dull on other, i think  the bumpers will show it up if anything as the insurance company refused to let the repair shop blow them in for the blend Embarrassed will have a good look when the sun has got it's hat on Thumbs Up

Great news Ray! With the skill of a decent sprayer they can usually match the colour pretty well with the rest of your bodywork. Got Pics? lol

Well the the paintjob looks good, just sprayed the ends of bumpers as someone alreday highlighted, now the problems AARRGGHH the rear door replaced now is stiff to shut and you can see the gaps are to big towards the wheel arch and to to tight to the front door, the large locking ring on door loom rubber broken and flopping about Angry and when i got into  the car the passenger seat furthest back was not located in , so another day lost somewhere in the near future but great to have her back, Daz if you trawl this post could you let me know how the locking ring fixes into the door please Wink off out now for a few black ones Roll Eyes

Its true what they say mate they are never the same.......
Surely the door can be adjusted  Huh?
I would of been more worried if the paint was not good!!
As you say at least you have her back, but at the end of the day
mate it was not your fault so take it back and complain!!!!!

Will be defo taking it back , had a good shufty at it today and it's poor repairs all round

1. front door paint runs under the handle
2.quoted for new  door mouldings and left the old ones on
3.Gaps where they have refitted the door handles
4.Door card on rear not fitted properly and clips broken
they have qouted for new door moulings and fitted the old one on the rear, they left the repair sheet and parts bill from ford in the car so i will be talking to the insururers tomorrow if they are open and will give them all the info and see if i can have the jap wagon back while they tidy up the shite they have sent me, as you can tell i'm not a happy bunny AARRGGHH just about had it with this now , there are not many people out there who seem to care about there workmanship anymore

He told me "leave it with me and i will be in touch!"

I don't think Chris Knott are open tomorrow Ray, but try them on Monday and let us know what they say. If you're not getting anywhere then let me or James know and we'll put some pressure on them. It's all well and good saving money on your insurance through the club scheme, but no good if they aren't going to deliver when you need them most. I take it the garage was one appointed by the underwriters?

Yes it was mate, runs on the front wing also, a part of the door card left in the car, another part broken that i can see when i pull back the very poorly refitted front card, the two screw covers for the door mirror are missing, overall a very very shoddy piece of work indeed, i shall just get in touch with the insurers and let them sort it out and tell them in no uncertain terms that i want another hire car while they get this sorted and ask them to ask the repairers why are qouting to replace parts and are not doing so, says on the repair list remove and refit rear bumper, not done, very very pissed off at the moment :'( :'( suppose i'll have to have a few black ones tonight to try and calm myself down

Ray
Hi dont forget to take pics of bits you are unhappy with and if you speak to the bodyshop take a witness, I had a bad experiance with a bodyshop some years ago and did not have a leg to stand on as they said the car could have been damaged during the week i had it back.

Hope you get it sorted and hope Chris Knott does not let you down and gives support
