go onto youtube and you will find k&n have got a video on there. parts 1 to 4 are all about oil contamination of the maf.make your own mind up on this info as they say its the maf that has contaminated itsself with silicon during manufacture.

Bear in mind that the turbo charged diesel engines rely on accurate MAF readings for correct boost pressure and therefore correct engine operation. Any oil contamination coming from the K&N (or equivalent) onto the MAF may affect the correct operation of the turbo and lead to very rough running.

normally aspirated engines (like the Galaxy petrol models) don't rely so much on the MAF readings as they use a much simpler method of air intake so any oil contamination on the MAF on these models won't be as noticable.

I am now looking for an airfilter upgrade.  Aways used to have K&N's fitted to my m/bikes, also in our petrol escort, and diesel vectra.

Can anyone recomend any other replacemant performance panel filters?

Nice One mate!

I have a few spare K&N Performance decal stickers going free of charge if you want to sport the logo on your Gal mate!

They are a small size, ideal to sport them on a corner of a window or somewhere on the Gal's body. Sizes: 140x50mm or 110x35mm or 90x35mm.

If you want any dude! or anyone else just email me your address and I will post them on to you. Wink

It arrived today and I've just fitted it Smiley

It was advertised as new, but didnt come in the sealed bag they usually do, and didnt have any stickers with it.
It was un-used though, plus it was cheap so I aint gonna moan tooooo much  Grin
