It may horrify many of you to know that I always take my car to the local carwash because as my neurological condition has got worse I can no longer stand up to wash the car without falling over.  The carwash makes quite a good job and I can usually manage to wipe off the residual drops with my Meguiars  microfibre cloth.

However the final rinse leaves a waxy smear on the windscreen  and rear window glass and I have great difficulty getting it off even with Meguiars glass cleaner.

Anyone have any bright ideas?

Vinegar and newspaper. Works a treat. It's also good for cleaning your wiper blades every month or so to get rid of any residue on them too.

I've used white spirit on mine before but I would go with white vinegar and newspaper for a proper job.

For side and rear windows I use Mr Muscle window cleaner (green stuff in a spray bottle)which  is pretty good or white vinegar is the other stuff I use both work a treat.
For the inside and outside of the windscreen I use hot water with washing up liquid in it which gives a perfect smear free finish.
