I'm after advice on how to sell / dispose of my 2003 Galaxy Zetec TDI 130 for a good price to the right person.

I've bought an S-Max but I'll truly be sad to see this Galaxy go, it is my 3rd Mk2 and they've never let me down. I've done over 60k miles in this one and it is still my daily runner for another week and I had no qualms about undertaking 400 mile journeys with the family in this summer so it isn't quite dead yet and not unsafe.

I haven't traded it in against the S-Max so I'm looking for the best options to sell to get a few quid, is it autotrader, scrap yard, ebay etc?

Low points
Knocking and creaking in front suspension (my main reason to change car)
Air Con dead (2nd reason after this summer, refill didn't work and no fault codes showing)
Front elec windows come off runner so can't be used more than half way
Coolant leak needs 1 litre per week
1 parking sensor dead so locked out
Needs front tyres
198k on the clock
Remote locking doesn't work
Drivers door lock non existent - lock / unlock with key in the boot
Rusty rear wheel arches
Squashed and rusty sill from incorrect jacking by a garage
External winter aux heater dead (smoky then locked out)
Spare wheel carrier rusted and ceased so wheel is kept in boot
Cam belt was last done 140k miles so this one done 57k
Minor scratches and dents outside

High points
Full service history and receipts for all work in last 5 years
Engine starts and runs perfectly, gearbox / clutch is good - still good for a race from the lights, no smoke, low oil burn (Max to min in a year)
Clean inside but trim is worn in the usual places
New dampers and springs all round 9 months ago
New front disc and pads 9 months ago
Rear tyres 9 month old
Only parking sensor and aux heater fault codes showing on VAGCOM
3 months MOT
Half a tank of diesel
£2 coin under the drivers seat somewhere

I've got a full record of it in "my garage" on this forum for more info.

Any advice welcome or if anybody is interested in repairing or breaking it?

The competition may end on 30/9 but the insurance deals for car club members don't - please include us in the mix when you're looking for quotes.

As I have said already make sure it is Android and not Win CE
Strange about glow plugs  Undecided

Oh yes no windows here (only on car!)
Been on Linux for 8 years.
Worse thing about no glow plugs is the smoke ! On a cold morning it's like fog.
Cheers for the reply
Bob

That's what Ford Etis says 2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (143PS) - DW
Are you removing the front bumper etc to remove engine? If so autobox might need to be removed unless front is nice and high to clear chassis and drop whole lot from below car
Autoboxes are a pain and specialised so not covered in Haynes. They work or they don't and if they don't you send them away for repair

Hi, hopefully picking up my new project tomorrow. MK3 2.0 TDCI Auto
I need to remove / swap engine (due to severe easy start abuse damaging piston and head)
The car is an Auto, is it easier to remove the engine and gearbox together or seperatly ?
As it was manafactured in DEC 2009 i believe i have the QXWB engine installed
the cam cover has the following numberes:
7G9Q 6L084FB  (EV100- long number )  D4204T  6906047
I have the VIN number if that helps.
as the engine is already apart 2 boxes and bucket in rear of vehicle i may ned some help putting it all back together.
Haynes manual ordered but they dont seem to cover the Auto box  Huh?
I think you can see why i joined the forum now, lol.
